Mental Health & Trauma Counselling

Practical support for the challenges you’re facing.

You might be feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply unlike yourself. You may know what’s contributing to it, or you may not.

We can begin with practical coping strategies for what feels difficult right now, while leaving room to understand the emotions, patterns, and experiences underneath.

Reasons people reach out

I work with adults and youth aged 12 and older seeking support with:

  • Anxiety & stress: Worry, overwhelm, feeling constantly on edge, or difficulty managing pressure.

  • Depression & low mood: Feeling flat, disconnected, exhausted, or finding daily routines difficult.

  • Trauma & PTSD: Distressing experiences, critical incidents, and trauma-related reactions that continue to affect daily life.

  • Relationships & emotional challenges: Boundaries, communication, difficult patterns, and changes in relationships.

  • Self-esteem & life changes: Confidence, identity, uncertainty, and challenges with change.

A collaborative, practical approach

We’ll begin by considering what would help you feel more supported day to day. Depending on your needs, counselling may also involve understanding emotional patterns, processing difficult experiences, or exploring new ways of responding.

My training includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR may be useful for processing traumatic memories when appropriate; it is one of several approaches we can consider together.

Trauma-informed care

My experience in victim services and crisis intervention informs how I understand trauma responses and the importance of safety, choice, and pacing. I also have experience working with individuals experiencing PTSD. Together, we can explore support that fits your circumstances and goals.

You don’t need to be in crisis to begin.
